The First High Criminal Court has begun the trial of a 24-year-old Bahraini man accused of stabbing another man at Malkiya Beach, leaving the victim with a permanent disability estimated at 1%. The court adjourned the case to March 15, 2026, to bring the defendant from detention.
According to the Public Prosecution, the defendant assaulted the victim on October 20, 2025, stabbing him in the middle of the chest with a knife and causing injuries described in the forensic medical report, which resulted in a permanent disability of 1%.
An officer at the Ministry of Interior testified that police received a report of a fight at Malkiya Beach, after which the victim was transferred to Salmaniya Medical Complex. Upon meeting the victim, officers observed a stab wound in the middle of his chest.
The victim told police that he had a dispute with the defendant over the phone, after which the defendant asked to meet at Malkiya Beach. The victim arrived with friends and met the defendant, who asked him to send his friends away so they could speak alone.
The officer added that once the victim moved away from his friends, the defendant suddenly stabbed him in the chest with a knife. The victim felt severe pain and fell to the ground, after which his friends intervened, pulled him away and removed the knife, helping to save him.
Police later found two knives at the scene of the altercation. During questioning, the defendant admitted to stabbing the victim.
The forensic doctor stated that the victim suffered a stab wound to the chest that caused internal bleeding and blood accumulation in the chest cavity, requiring surgical intervention and the insertion of a chest drainage tube. The injury was consistent with being caused by a sharp object such as a knife and resulted in a permanent disability estimated at 1%.
The defendant also confessed during the Public Prosecution investigation to stabbing the victim.
