Manama: Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company (BKIC) and Takaful International Company have announced a temporary initiative to provide free emergency medical coverage of up to USD 3,000 per person for eligible policyholders who are currently outside the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait and are unable to return due to the ongoing regional situation and temporary airspace and exit-route closures.
Under the initiative, individual customers holding any active policy with either company will be entitled to emergency medical expenses for urgent treatment required while abroad during this period.
The coverage applies exclusively to emergency medical care outside Bahrain and Kuwait and is intended to provide immediate reassurance to customers affected by the current travel disruptions. The support will remain in place on a temporary basis until normal travel and exit operations resume.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Abdulla Sultan, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company, said the decision reflects the company’s responsibility to take practical action at a time when many families remain outside Bahrain and Kuwait due to temporary closures. He added that the initiative is part of the company’s wider social responsibility and its commitment to stand by policyholders when support is most needed.
Mr. Essam Al Ansari, Chief Executive Officer of Takaful International Company, said the company understands the uncertainty faced by customers who are away from home during unexpected disruptions, and that the initiative demonstrates its commitment to supporting the community during this period.
Policyholders requiring assistance are advised to contact the companies’ customer service centres for guidance and coordination, with further details available through their official social media channels.
Both companies reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Bahrain and Kuwait and their communities by providing stability, care and dependable protection during the current situation.
