Bahrain Arrests Individuals Spreading False Content Amid Iranian Attacks
The Ministry of Interior announced that the Cybercrime Directorate has taken swift action since the onset of the recent Iranian aggression targeting multiple sites in Bahrain. Several individuals have been identified and arrested for committing serious offenses that threaten the security and stability of society.
Among the violations are the dissemination of videos and content showing sympathy for the attacks—actions considered a betrayal of the nation and a clear affront to its values. The suspects also circulated fabricated images, generated using artificial intelligence, depicting destruction to homes, which were shared across social media platforms. These acts misled public opinion and spread fear among citizens and residents, constituting a legal violation that endangers public safety and order.
The Ministry confirmed that all necessary legal procedures have been followed, and the arrested individuals have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Interior Ministry urged the public to obtain information only from official sources and refrain from sharing or reposting unreliable content, both to avoid legal consequences and to protect the security and safety of the country.
