HM King backs Arab League unity initiatives

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa emphasised Bahrain’s support for all efforts undertaken by the Arab League. He highlighted the League’s effective role in advancing joint Arab action and in preserving unity and a common position among the nations.

HM the King made the remarks as he received Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab League, during his visit to the Kingdom to attend the seventh annual forum of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat).

HM King Hamad welcomed Aboul Gheit and his participation in the forum, wishing him and all participants success in helping to expand Arab research cooperation and strengthen joint Arab action.

His Majesty expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the Arab League Secretary General to enhance cooperation and solidarity among Arab states, defend the nation’s causes, and safeguard its achievements as well as the security and stability of its peoples. Aboul Gheit expressed his gratitude to HM the King for Bahrain’s continued support for the Arab League and its role in serving Arab causes and enhancing joint Arab action.

He commended the Kingdom’s firm stance in supporting the nation’s causes and defending its interests under His Majesty’s leadership.
