Bahrain Cabinet Reviews Key Regional Developments and Upcoming GCC Summit

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting on Monday at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet praised the outcomes of the recent official visit by Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, noting that his meetings with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister helped strengthen bilateral relations and open new areas of cooperation.

Ministers also welcomed GCC leaders arriving in Bahrain for the 46th GCC Supreme Council Summit, chaired by His Majesty the King. The Cabinet expressed confidence that the summit will further enhance Gulf unity and joint coordination.

On the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day, the Cabinet congratulated Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Women, and all Bahraini women. The Cabinet praised ongoing national efforts to empower women across various sectors.

The Cabinet highlighted the success of Jewellery Arabia 2025, Cityscape Bahrain 2025, and Scent Arabia 2025, saying the events reinforce Bahrain’s position as a regional centre for major exhibitions and conferences. Appreciation was extended to the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Tourism, BTEA, RERA, and other authorities for ensuring the smooth organisation of these events.

The Cabinet noted the importance of the Celebrate Bahrain season, describing it as a major platform to showcase the country’s tourism, cultural, and entertainment offerings. Relevant entities were directed to continue promoting Bahrain as a leading tourist destination.

Ministers also commended government bodies that have already implemented recommendations from the National Audit Office (NAO) report. The Cabinet urged other entities with outstanding observations to act on the recommendations, emphasising the NAO’s role in supporting good governance.

The Cabinet congratulated the United Arab Emirates on the 54th Eid Al Etihad, praising the country’s progress and development.

The meeting approved several proposals and memorandums, including:

New legal and regulatory procedures for real estate development

Bahrain’s population census update to mid-2025

The proposed agenda for the 46th GCC Supreme Council session

 

  • A draft agreement with Trinidad and Tobago to waive visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders

 

  • An MoU between Bahrain’s Institute of Public Administration and its Jordanian counterpart

 

  • The Cabinet also reviewed the priority programmes of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication.

 

  • Ministers were briefed on several reports covering Bahrain’s participation in regional and international events, including:

 

  • GCC country visits by the Minister of Foreign Affairs

 

  • Bahrain-UK Strategic Dialogue outcomes

 

  • The Dubai Airshow 2025

 

  • Hajj and Umrah Services Conference 2025

 

  • Meetings of Arab Ministers of Justice and Arab Information Ministers

 

  • Bahrain’s membership in UNESCO’s Institute for Statistics

 

  • A visit by Sierra Leone’s Minister of Technical and Higher Education

 

  • Ministers’ planned international engagements for December 2025
