UN in Bahrain Marks 80th Anniversary with “Shared Lives, Shared Future” Exhibition
The United Nations in Bahrain inaugurated the UN@80 Photo Exhibition, “Shared Lives, Shared Future,” on Tuesday at Seef Mall’s Colours of the East Gallery. The opening was attended by government officials, diplomats, artists, and friends of the UN, underscoring Bahrain’s enduring commitment to multilateralism and sustainable development.
The exhibition features powerful stories from around the world, illustrating how the UN’s work touches daily life through peacekeeping, humanitarian aid, development initiatives, international cooperation, and the promotion of human rights.
“The exhibition we launch tonight tells a remarkable story—a story that began 80 years ago, one of ambition, cooperation, and shared progress. These images remind us that multilateralism makes our world better, and only together can we build our shared future,” said Ahmed Ben Lassoued, Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Manama and Acting UN Resident Coordinator in Bahrain.
The Bahrain exhibition presents 31 photographs and runs until November 15. It forms part of a global initiative marking the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, organized by the UN Department of Global Communications and its Information Centres, with support from Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland.
