BCF Champions Grassroots Cricket at ICC Women’s Week

Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF) hosted a spectacular and inspiring ICC Women’s Cricket Week World Cup Match Watch Event at Water Garden City. The inclusive event drew over 1,000 attendees, primarily young girls, demonstrating cricket’s soaring popularity in the Kingdom. The festivities included a live screening of the India vs England Women’s World Cup match and a major softball cricket tryout that saw more than 250 new players take part.
Dignitaries, including Mr. Yusuf Yaqoob Lori (Director of Information and Follow-up, Capital Governorate), inaugurated the day alongside BCF leadership. BCF leadership attended the event, represented by Advisory Board Chairman Mohammed Mansoor, President Sami Mohd Ali, General Secretary Kishore Kewalram, and Treasurer Ms. Meenaz Ahmed.
The event kicked off with a traditional Bahraini Al Ardha dance and a march by the Bahrain Women’s National Team, underscoring the BCF’s commitment to youth and grassroots development through programs like the Criiio Cricket Festivals, which are currently engaging over 500 girls across 16 schools.
