The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, and the Executive Office of the National Plan to Promote National Belonging and Strengthen Citizenship Values (“Our Bahrain”), announced a special guided tourism tour on Saturday, 27 September 2025, at 3:00 PM, in celebration of World Tourism Day, held this year under the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”

The tour will begin at the Bahrain National Museum and will include visits to some of the Kingdom’s most iconic historical and cultural landmarks, including Bab Al Bahrain and the Beit Al Kanoo Museum, offering participants a chance to explore the rich heritage of Manama. The itinerary also features a visit to the Jasra Handicraft Centre, showcasing the creativity of Bahraini artisans.

The tour will conclude with a return to the Bahrain National Museum, where participants can explore its collections reflecting the Kingdom’s deep-rooted history and cultural identity.

This initiative marks the first joint tourism effort highlighting sustainable tourism, with transportation provided via modern public buses. The initiative emphasizes the role of Bahrain’s public transport network in reducing carbon emissions, promoting environmental awareness, and presenting authentic Bahraini experiences that blend tradition with sustainability.

A team of expert Bahraini tour guides will accompany participants, offering detailed insights into the country’s historical and cultural sites.

Participation in this free tour is open to the public, with prior registration required via the Platinum List platform at www.platinumlist.net. Registration will close once all seats are filled.

The United Nations World Tourism Organization designated 27 September as World Tourism Day to highlight tourism’s importance as a tool for sustainable development and fostering closer ties between nations.

Bahrain’s celebration aligns with the Tourism Sector Strategy 2022–2026 and supports the objectives of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting heritage, culture, and sustainable tourism practices.
