Deputy King Highlights Importance of Safer Roads in Meeting with Interior Minister
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Deputy King, received His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Traffic Council, at Riffa Palace today.
The Interior Minister briefed HRH the Deputy King on the new decree-law that introduces stricter penalties for traffic violations. The update is part of the Kingdom’s efforts to improve road safety and reduce accidents.
HRH the Deputy King said the amendments aim to protect lives and property while ensuring smoother traffic flow. He stressed the importance of regularly reviewing and updating traffic regulations to create a safer environment for all road users.
For his part, HE General Shaikh Rashid expressed his appreciation for HRH the Deputy King’s guidance. He noted that the tougher penalties for serious violations mark a significant step forward in Bahrain’s traffic laws, reflecting the government’s ongoing commitment to public safety.
He also reaffirmed the Ministry’s determination to implement the new rules effectively, ensuring safer roads for all.
The meeting was also attended by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, along with several senior officials.
