Bahrain’s under-17 national team opened their overseas training camp with a 3-2 win over FK Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Mohammed Salah put Bahrain ahead before Hussain Zuhair struck twice to seal the win in their first of four scheduled friendlies.
The team, coached by Croatia’s Ugo Klingor, are using the camp to prepare for the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers in November. Bahrain have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts China, Bangladesh, Brunei, Timor-Leste and Sri Lanka.
Their next match is against FK Zeljeznicar Sarajevo on Thursday, followed by two fixtures against Bosnia and Herzegovina’s youth squad. The squad are due to return home on August 29.
The Asian Cup qualifiers run from 22-30 November, with seven places at stake for the finals in Saudi Arabia next year.
