Proposal highlights need for stronger community-wide readiness during emergencies_

Several citizens have proposed connecting national emergency sirens to mosque loudspeakers to ensure alerts reach all residents and neighborhoods across Bahrain, especially during emergencies.

They pointed out that since mosques are widely spread across residential areas, using their speakers could be an effective way to relay critical warnings quickly and broadly during times of crisis.

While the public welcomed the government’s initiative of linking sirens to the “MyGov” app for digital notifications, many emphasized the importance of also having on-the-ground alerts, especially in residential neighborhoods and newer urban areas.

Citizens also praised the readiness and proactive approach of Bahrain’s security forces and government agencies, especially during recent regional tensions, reflecting the Kingdom’s advanced emergency response capabilities.

However, they noted that the latest emergency drill showed a need to improve certain aspects, particularly expanding the geographic range of siren coverage to include newer housing areas that may currently fall outside alert zones.

Though not commonly practiced in other countries, residents believe that linking mosque loudspeakers with siren systems is a feasible and potentially impactful option worth exploring further.

The citizens extended their gratitude to all government bodies for their ongoing efforts to safeguard the nation and its people while continuing progress despite challenges.
They also praised the National Platform for Civil Protection for providing educational content that helps people respond effectively to emergencies.
