Labour Ministry Champions Careers, Guides Bahrain’s Graduating Youth

His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, inaugurated the 20th ‘Careers Day’ at the University College of Bahrain on Sunday, praising its role in connecting students with future job opportunities.

During the ceremony, HH Shaikh Khalifa highlighted the significance of career exhibitions hosted by private universities, describing them as vital platforms for aligning students’ skills with the demands of the national labour market.

Career readiness

Held on campus, the event brought together several private sector companies offering internships, training programmes, and job opportunities.

Students took part in live interactions with employers, enhancing their understanding of workplace expectations and improving their interview skills. Attending the event were Dr Rana Abdullah Sawaya, President of the University College of Bahrain, and other senior officials from the university and the Ministry.

Public-private synergy The Undersecretary toured the company booths and praised the proactive approach of private enterprises in supporting national employment goals and contributing to the Ministry’s career guidance efforts.

He noted that such collaborations are instrumental in preparing Bahraini graduates for roles across the Kingdom’s productive sectors.
