National Day fete at Pak Club ends

Pakistan community reiterated its pledge of love and loyalty with the leadership and the people of Bahrain as the two-day special programmes on Bahrain’s National Day concluded with sports and cultural events on the Pakistan Club premises here yesterday.

Addressing the gathering, the Club’s Chairman Mahmood Rafique on behalf of the Executive Board, congratulated the leadership and the people of Bahrain on this auspicious occasion. 

“This historic event is an opportunity for all our community members to come together and celebrate this occasion shoulder to shoulder with Bahraini brethren and also to renew our pledge for serving this great nation in all walks of life,” the Chairman said.

The events started with a colourful cultural event on December 16, which was attended by hundreds of community members marking the 44th National Day and the 15th anniversary of Accession to Throne by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Abdulla Mohammed Al Sinan, Chairman of Muharraq Municipal Council, was the chief guest, who also watched the two handball matches specially organised by the Club on the occasion. The match  was won by the Pakistan Club team. Al Sinan distributed the trophies to the winning and runners up teams, in addition to the man of the match award.

Following the sports event, the cake cutting ceremony was started with the national anthem of both countries.  On the occasion, Al Sinan commended the role being played by the Pakistan community in the development of the Kingdom since its independence.

“We consider Pakistani community people as an integral part of the society and we value their services and sacrifices very high. The colourful events on Bahrain’s National Day at the Pakistan Club is a glaring example of the warm relations between the leadership and the people of both nations,” Al Sinan noted in his address.

Al Sinan also thanked the Pakistan Club and community members for joining Bahrain on the National Day and the anniversary of HM the King’s Accession Day. 

He added that such gestures would further cement the ties between the two nations.
