Capital Governor Reviews Ashoora Preparations at Security Committee Meeting

Shaikh Khalid bin Humood bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Capital Governor, chaired a meeting of the Capital Governorate Security Committee to assess security, organisational and service preparations for the upcoming Ashoora commemoration.
The meeting was attended by representatives from relevant security directorates at the Ministry of Interior, along with officials from various government entities involved in coordinating arrangements for the occasion.
Shaikh Khalid bin Humood highlighted that the Ashoora commemoration continues to receive the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, reflecting Bahrain’s longstanding commitment to religious freedom, coexistence and tolerance. He also praised the support provided by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to ensure that the commemoration is conducted in a safe and organised manner.
The Capital Governor commended General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, for his direct oversight of preparations and his commitment to the annual meeting with heads and officials of maatams. He stressed the importance of preserving religious and cultural traditions while ensuring they remain free from political exploitation.
During the meeting, committee members reviewed field plans and service measures designed to facilitate the commemoration, enhance safety for participants and maintain smooth traffic flow in areas expected to witness increased activity.
Following the meeting, Shaikh Khalid bin Humood and committee members conducted an inspection tour across Manama to review Hussaini procession routes and evaluate the readiness of security, organisational and service arrangements. The tour aimed to ensure the implementation of recommendations issued to the relevant authorities and maintain the highest standards of safety and organisation throughout the commemoration.
