The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amina bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, has witnessed the commencement of concrete foundation works for a new housing project comprising 44 residential units in Salman City. The project is part of a wider plan to deliver 137 housing units under the Government Land Development Rights Programme.

The launch ceremony was attended by Omar Faisal Al Tamimi, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain First Real Estate Development Company, along with several officials.

On the occasion, the Minister emphasized that the continued implementation of projects under the Government Land Development Rights Programme reflects the success of this development model in accelerating the provision of housing services for citizens. She noted that it aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to expedite housing projects and deliver 50,000 housing units, as well as the government’s ongoing support under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Al Rumaihi said the project is part of the ministry’s broader plan to implement 137 housing units in Salman City in cooperation with the private sector. She stressed that such strategic partnerships help increase housing supply and expand options available to beneficiaries of housing programmes, supporting national housing sector goals.

She added that the programme represents an advanced model of public–private partnership, enabling the use of private sector expertise and capabilities to deliver high-quality housing solutions that meet the needs of Bahraini families. The ministry, she said, continues to expand the programme across various governorates.

The Minister also pointed out that the new project builds on the success of previous developments under the same programme, including “Suhail” in Al Lawzi, “Al Naseem District” in Salman City, “Al Wadi” in Al Buhair, and “Danat Sanad”, all of which have seen strong demand from citizens.

She praised Bahrain First Real Estate Development Company for its commitment to implementing the project according to the highest technical and engineering standards, highlighting the importance of such partnerships in accelerating delivery and diversifying housing options.

For his part, CEO Omar Faisal Al Tamimi expressed the company’s pride in collaborating with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning on the project, describing the partnership as a successful model of integration between the public and private sectors in housing development.
