Dair rioters get five-year imprisonment
Five persons accused of rioting were sentenced to five years in prison each.
They were allegedly among the saboteurs who carried out acts of vandalism in Dair on April 18 this year.
They reportedly set tyres ablaze, before pelting firebombs at officers.
Investigations found the five Bahraini men were among the rioters, and police officers nabbed all of them later.
“I received a message on my BlackBerry from a group named Shabab Al Dair (Al Dair Youths) stating that a riot was taking place. The message indicated that the assembly point will be near a local mosque,” one of the suspects told prosecutors earlier.
“I went there and I found masked men holding tyres and a bottle filled with petrol. We agreed to set them on fire near the main entrance of the village,” he added.
