Kyiv: Russian missile and drone attacks in numerous Ukrainian regions killed at least 13 people and injured around 50 others overnight, according to regional authorities. The strikes caused devastation on residential neighbourhoods and civilian infrastructure, causing buildings to collapse and cause flames.
As officials searched through wreckage for survivors, emergency services proceeded to rescue people at various impact sites. Ukrainian officials said the assaults highlighted the country's urgent need for more powerful air defence systems.
The latest shelling comes as Russia and Ukraine escalate their long-range attacks, including strikes on Black Sea infrastructure and military sites.
