Austin: Four people were injured in a series of overnight shootings across Austin, with police confirming three teenage suspects are now in custody following a citywide manhunt.

Authorities said the shootings began late Saturday and continued into early Sunday, with incidents reported mainly in south Austin. Officials confirmed a total of 12 separate shooting incidents across the city, leaving four people wounded, including one person who remains in serious condition.

Kirk Watson said multiple shootings had taken place overnight, while Lisa Davis confirmed investigators currently believe the attacks appear to have been random, with no clear motive identified.

Police said the suspects used multiple vehicles during the shootings, including Hyundai, Mazda and Kia models, suggesting they changed cars throughout the attacks. Investigators also believe some of the firearms used may have been stolen.

The suspects were identified as Hispanic males in their late teens. Two suspects, aged 15 and 17, were initially taken into custody, while a third suspect was later detained following a police pursuit near Manor, east of Austin.

Authorities have now confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public, and a temporary shelter-in-place order issued for residents in south Austin has been lifted.

Police have urged residents to remain alert, report suspicious activity, and ensure vehicles are locked with keys removed as investigations continue.
