New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made it clear that Class 12 students whose scores improve after re-evaluation would receive a full refund of the re-evaluation expense in an effort to increase transparency and ease worries regarding the board examination grading process.
The decision was made in response to students' concerns and confusion regarding the new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system implemented for the 2026 board exams. The strategy, according to CBSE and Education Ministry officials, increases accuracy and reduces calculation-related errors during evaluation. In addition to the refund policy, CBSE has significantly reduced the cost of post-result services.
According to officials, the revised pricing schedule is meant to help with the rechecking and review process for students who want to gain insight into their results.
