Qatar, Pakistan Discuss Ceasefire Efforts

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a phone call on Saturday with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, discussing regional developments and efforts to reduce tensions, according to an official statement.
The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to strengthen cooperation between Doha and Islamabad across various fields.
They also exchanged views on the latest regional situation, with particular attention to Pakistani-led mediation efforts aimed at de-escalation and promoting stability.
During the call, Sheikh Mohammed expressed Qatar’s appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives and for the efforts of other parties involved in mediation that contributed to reaching a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, the statement said.
He reaffirmed Qatar’s full support for Pakistan’s mediation role, stressing the importance of continued engagement by all sides to create conditions conducive to negotiations.
The Qatari premier also emphasized the need for a comprehensive agreement that ensures lasting peace and stability in the region through peaceful dialogue and diplomatic solutions.
