UAE–Oman Hafeet Rail Project Reaches 40% Completion

The Hafeet Rail project linking the United Arab Emirates and the Oman has reached 40% completion, marking a major milestone in regional transport development.

The railway, a joint venture between Etihad Rail, Oman Rail and Mubadala Investment Company, will span approximately 238 kilometres once fully completed. Named after Jebel Hafeet, the network is set to become a key link connecting the two countries.

Project developers confirmed that more than 27 million cubic metres of earthworks have been completed so far, alongside the achievement of 10 million safe working hours without major injuries.

Construction is progressing across several key locations, including Al Ain, Al Buraimi, Sohar, and Wadi Al Jizzi.

Once operational, the rail link is expected to significantly boost trade, strengthen supply chains, and enhance economic integration between the UAE and Oman, supporting long-term regional growth.
