Cooperation on Vector-Borne Disease Control

Her Excellency Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, welcomed a delegation from the Saudi Public Health Authority “Weqaya” at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Manama. The delegation was led by Dr. Saeed Mahdi Al-Qarni, Executive Director of Communicable and Vector-Borne Diseases at the authority.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in combating vector-borne diseases. She highlighted the role of collaborative efforts in supporting national initiatives aimed at evaluating and strengthening health and preventive strategies, within the framework of Gulf health cooperation.

The discussions also included a review of key experiences in developing national strategies for vector-borne disease control in both countries, mechanisms for joint coordination among relevant authorities, and an overview of the latest technologies in disease surveillance and control, including the use of biotechnology to curb the spread of diseases.
