Muharraq drew first blood in their Golden Square semi-final series against Al Ahli last night in the 2023/2024 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.

Muharraq posted a hardearned 95-82 victory against their opponents in game one of their best-of-three series.

The victors took control of the contest in the second half where they turned away a narrow 40-41 deficit before leading by as many as 15 points late on.

Muharraq will now be looking to close out this head-tohead with a win in game two, scheduled to take place Thursday at 8pm.

Ahli, on the other hand, will hope to force a decisive third game, which will be held, if needed, on April 25.

The winner of this Golden Square will face off with the victor of the other semis clash between defending league champions Manama and Al Ettihad.

Manama won the first game and will be returning to the hardwood on Friday for game two, with the hopes of booking their finals ticket.
