Shaikh Hamad, Shaikh Salman win BIC 2000 CC
The third round of the local championship Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) 2000 CC challenge ended yesterday in Sakhir with Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa winning the first race and Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa the second.
Racing started with free practice and qualification in the late morning with Shaikh Salman, Shaikh Hamad, Hussein Karimi, Alex Longden and Tim Birkin leading.
In the first race, Shaikh Hamad won the 12 lap race in 15 minutes 53.024 seconds, followed in second 49.417 seconds behind by Karimi with Shaikh Salman (16:04.758) third, Alex Longden (6:10.333) fourth, Tim Birkin (16:49.417 fifth and sixth, seventh and eighth places went to Salah Salahuddin, Lee Stones and Michael Priester.
During the race, Shaikh Hamad achieved the fastest lap in 1 minute 18.482 seconds.
In the second race, Shaikh Salman (:64.950) took first place, closely followed by Shaikh Hamad (+0.748 seconds) behind in second with Longden (16:21.107) coming third, fourth was Karimi (16:27.803), fifth Birkin (16:36.044, sixth Salahudddin, seventh Stones, and eighth Priester with the fastest lap by Shaikh Salman (1:18.107).
