Bahrain-Korea for greater trade ties

Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) chairman Sameer Nass yesterday stressed the chamber’s readiness to streamline and encourage trade, partnerships and investments between Bahrain and Korean.

Speaking during the third edition of the Bahrain-Korea Business Forum, Nass hailed the deep-rooted relation between the countries extending beyond 43 years. The forum witnessed wide participation from Bahraini and Korean business owners and investors, who liaised with their counterparts, mulled forging partnerships, and deliberated about promising investment opportunities particularly in light of the benefits and incentives foreign investors enjoy.

The BCCI in cooperation with the Korean embassy to Bahrain and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) held the Business Forum. The event included sector-specific business-to-business sessions in addition to presentations on the business environment and investment opportunities in both Bahrain and Korea.

The BCCI chairman shed light on the high-level visits between leaders and officials from both sides and their impact in spurring relations and further stimulating economic, cultural and social cooperation.

It is worth mentioning that the volume of trade between Bahrain and Korea reached 374 million US dollars in 2018, while export reached 122 million US dollars for the same year, a 61 per cent increase from its levels in 2017.
