Alba holds its Board Meeting for Third Quarter of 2026

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba), the world's largest smelter on one site, held its third quarterly Board of Directors' meeting on Tuesday 22 September 2026, during which the Board reviewed key strategic, operational, commercial and governance matters supporting the Company's long-term growth objectives.

 

Commenting on the meeting, Alba's Chairman of the Board, Khalid Al Rumaihi, said: "On behalf of our Board of Directors, I'd like to extend our sincere appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, for his recent visit to Alba and for recognising the outstanding contributions of our national workforce. His continued support inspires us to build on our successes and further contribute to the Kingdom of Bahrain's economic and industrial progress."

Adding further, he said: "We are also encouraged by the progress made to date on the proposed acquisition of Aluminium Dunkerque. This transaction represents an important strategic step in Alba's growth journey, strengthening our international presence and supporting our ambition to build a global low-carbon aluminium platform. We look forward to satisfying the remaining regulatory approvals required to bring this transformative transaction to a successful close while maintaining our focus on disciplined execution, robust governance, and long-term value creation for all stakeholders."

In addition, the Board reviewed and approved several governance and policy enhancements recommended by its committees, including the Modern Slavery Policy, the updated Key Persons Dealing and Insider Information Policy, and revised Levels of Authority, further strengthening Alba's governance framework and commitment to international best practices. The Board also reviewed and approved the preliminary 2027 Marketing Plan, reflecting Alba's continued focus on customer engagement, commercial excellence, and market development. Other matters considered during the meeting included corporate governance updates and the approval of the Company's updated authorised signatory framework.

Chaired by Mr. Khalid Al Rumaihi, Alba's Board of Directors comprises six directors appointed by Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company B.S.C. © - Shaikh Isa bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Mrs. Rasha Sabkar, Mrs. Marwa Al Saad, Mr. Omar Syed and Mr. Riccardo Picca; one director appointed by Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) - Mr. Ahmed Al Shaikh; and three elected directors - Mr. Bruce Cox, Mr. Khalid Rowais and Mr. Armando Martinez.
