Bahraini Press Day: MP Maryam Al Dhaen Hails Media's Role

MP Dr. Maryam Al-Dhaen hailed the media in Bahrain for its pivotal role in the country’s comprehensive development process.

In a statement, Dr. Al-Dhaen attributed the high standard achieved by Bahrain’s media to the unwavering support and interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Acknowledging the significant support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Dr. Al-Dhaen noted initiatives such as the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, fostering a competitive atmosphere and encouraging journalistic excellence.

Designating Bahraini Press Day on May 7th annually underscores the leadership’s commitment to the fourth estate as a crucial partner in development, Dr. Al-Dhaen said.

She praised the efforts of Bahraini newspapers and media personnel in highlighting the nation’s achievements across economic, developmental, environmental, and social realms.

Expressing gratitude to H.E. Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, Dr. Al-Dhaen commended the ministry’s initiatives in nurturing media talent, enhancing the sector regionally and internationally.

Dr. Al-Dhaen also affirmed the Parliament’s dedication to supporting legislation promoting freedom of expression and opinion within the press and media sector, aligned with constitutional commitments.
