Bahrain to take part in 31st Asian Stamp Exhibition in HK

Bahrain Philatelic Society (BPS) will participate in the 31st Asian International Stamp Exhibition to be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai from November 20-23.

The four-day international event will showcase a wide range of various stamp-based products and services and many more related products and services in the automotive industry.

The BPS members will participate in the exhibition with commemorative envelopes and will also provide the commemorative postmark cancellation services on the exhibition site.

Society’s board member and head of public relation committee Hafedh Abdulghaffar will be the commissioner for the Bahraini participants in the event. 

“I will be introducing Bahrain post history brochures and booklets during this international expo,” Abdulghaffar said.

The Bahraini exhibitors will showcase their products under various categories: Dr Khaled Qasem Behzad (Flowers), Khaled Ali Darweesh (History of revenue stamps in Bahrain 

from 1924 to 1992), Jassim Khaled Behzad (short history of Bahrain aerogram postal stationary), Ali Salem Musaed (commercial postal between Bahrain and India (King George VI) and Abdul Hameed Sultan (the start of air mail services in the world).

To commemorate this major international philatelic event, Hong Kong Post is issuing a series of three stamp sheets printed in lithography plus hot-foil stamping on the theme of ‘Shopping and Dining’ to highlight the charms of Hong Kong as a shoppers’ paradise and a culinary treasure trove.

A booklet on The Hong Kong 2015 - 31st Asian International Stamp Exhibition will also be released for sale on November 23. This booklet contains the complete series of the three stamp sheets printed in lithography.
