The Court of Cassation has upheld the conviction of two company officials whose negligence resulted in three workers suffering dizziness and fainting during cleaning operations inside a water tank.

The Public Prosecution charged the defendants with professional negligence for failing to follow occupational safety standards. The Chief Operating Officer was accused of not conducting a proper risk assessment, while the General Manager failed to inform workers of hazards and required safety measures.

Lower courts previously sentenced each defendant to one month in prison, suspended for three years, a ruling later upheld by the Court of Appeal.

The incident occurred while workers were cleaning a confined water tank in a building, where they lost consciousness due to inadequate safety procedures and training.
