First Inclusive Football Initiative Concludes in Bahrain

Reach Behavior and Development Center, in collaboration with Tekkers Football Academy, has successfully completed Bahrain’s first Inclusive Football Programme, a pioneering initiative designed to enable children with additional support needs to participate in football in a structured and supportive environment.

The four-week programme brought together children aged 7 to 10, offering them the opportunity to develop basic football skills while also building confidence, improving social interaction, and experiencing teamwork in an inclusive setting tailored to individual requirements.

Sessions were jointly delivered by experienced football coaches and behavioural specialists, ensuring that each child received appropriate guidance and support to actively engage in group activities and team-based play.

Organisers said the initiative was developed with the goal of making sport more accessible, while encouraging inclusion, participation, and stronger community engagement for children of all abilities.

Speaking on the occasion, Mona Tadayyon, Founder and Director of Reach Behavior and Development Center, said the programme reflects a core belief in equal opportunity for all children.

“At Reach, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to participate, belong, and succeed within their community,” she said. “This Inclusive Football Programme was created to remove barriers and provide children with meaningful opportunities to build confidence, develop social connections, and experience the joy of sport.”

She added that the centre is grateful to Tekkers Football Academy and participating families for their trust and support, and expressed hope that similar inclusive initiatives will be expanded across Bahrain in the future.
