Three killed, including suspect, in Montreal gun attack

Montreal: A police officer, a civilian, and the suspected gunman died in a shooting in Montreal's Côte-des-Neiges area on Monday evening, according to authorities. Another officer was injured.

The fighting started when Montreal police responded to allegations of an armed individual in the area. According to investigators, the suspect, armed with a rifle, opened fire on responding officers from within a residential building, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. One officer was fatally shot on the spot, while another was injured and sent to the hospital in stable condition. A civilian was also found dead during the occurrence.

Police later confirmed that the suspected gunman died during the confrontation.
