Strong Winds Expected to Impact Visibility

Bahrain will experience a period of notable northwesterly wind activity beginning Thursday, June 25, according to the Meteorological Directorate at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.

The Directorate said wind speeds are expected to range from moderate to strong, occasionally becoming strong during daytime hours, with these conditions likely to persist over the following days.

It added that the strengthening winds will lead to a relative drop in humidity levels, which may slightly improve the perceived temperature. However, hot weather conditions are expected to continue across the Kingdom.

Authorities also warned that the winds could raise blowing dust and sand in some exposed areas, leading to temporary reductions in horizontal visibility.

At sea, forecasts indicate that wave heights may increase at times, particularly in open waters, due to the wind activity. This could make marine conditions unsuitable for some activities during the affected period.

The Meteorological Directorate urged the public, especially sea users, to exercise caution and remain updated through official weather bulletins and authorised channels to ensure safety.
