Bahrain’s openness to cultural diversity to the fore

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa has underlined Bahrain’s commitment to cultural and religious diversity. During Diwali family visits, Shaikh Mohammed highlighted that protecting religious rights and freedom and promoting the principles of tolerance had always been a part of Bahraini society. 

Shaikh Mohammed also emphasised the important role Islam plays in promoting tolerance between all religions and cultures. On behalf of Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed visited the Bhatia, Gajria, Kewalram, Haridas, Kavalani and Thakar families to mark the religious festival of Diwali on Wednesday. During the visits, Shaikh Mohammed extended greetings of Crown Prince to the families, and expressed Prince Salman’s appreciation for the families’ important contribution towards the growth of Kingdom’s commercial and economic sectors.

Shaikh Mohammed expressed his pride in Bahrain’s long established multicultural and diverse society, which continues to foster religious and cultural understanding.

Shaikh Mohammed wished all Bahraini citizens and residents peace and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The families celebrating Diwali expressed gratitude for Shaikh Mohammed’s visit and expressed appreciation for the continued support of HRH the Crown Prince. The families also welcomed the Kingdom’s cultural openness and longstanding support for religious rights.
