Bahrain Breaks Ground on 69 New Homes in Salman City

Housing Minister marks foundation works as national drive for 50,000 units gathers pace

A New Chapter for Salman City

Bahrain's Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, H.E. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, attended the groundbreaking foundation works for 69 new residential units in Salman City — the latest milestone under the Government Land Development Rights Programme.

The project is part of a broader ministry plan to deliver 137 homes in Salman City through a public-private partnership, this time with Bab Al Dilmoun Real Estate Company, whose CEO Abdullah Ali attended the ceremony alongside senior officials.

The Bigger Picture

Minister Al Rumaihi said the project reflects the accelerating pace of housing delivery under the Royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the government's commitment — led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister — to provide 50,000 residential units for Bahraini citizens.

She described the Government Land Development Rights Programme as an advanced model of public-private collaboration, one that increases housing supply, improves project efficiency, and delivers diverse options tailored to the needs of Bahraini families.

A Proven Track Record

The minister highlighted previously successful projects under the same programme, including Suhail in Al Lawzi, Hay Al Naseem in Salman City, Al Wadi in Al Buhair, and Danat Hawrat Snad — all of which saw strong demand from citizens.

This new project is the second phase of collaboration with Bab Al Dilmoun, following the completed Hay Al Naseem development of 131 units.

Project Specs

The development sits on 13,891 square metres, with unit sizes ranging from 174 to 261 sq/m — averaging 200 sq/m — priced in line with the ministry's housing finance programmes in partnership with approved banks.
