Global Panel Discusses Commercial Justice

Session explores innovation in Bahrain’s commercial dispute resolution system

A Bahraini dispute resolution body has hosted a high-level session in London examining the future of international commercial justice, bringing together senior judges, arbitrators, and legal practitioners during London Disputes Week 2026.

The session, titled “A Global Vision for Commercial Justice,” was organised by the Bahrain International Dispute Resolution Council and took place at the International Dispute Resolution Centre in London, under the King Hamad Global Centre for Justice framework, which includes the International Commercial Court of Bahrain and the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution.

The discussion was chaired by Professor Marika Pantani Paulson, Secretary-General of the Bahrain International Dispute Resolution Council.

Among the speakers were Sir Christopher Greenwood, judge at the International Commercial Court of Bahrain and trustee of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution, Kevin Nash, Director-General of the London Court of International Arbitration, and Riza Mohtashami KC, royal counsel, partner at Three Crowns, and trustee of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution.

The session focused on procedural innovations introduced by Bahrain’s International Commercial Court, as well as a comparative discussion between arbitration and commercial courts. Participants also explored how “principles of dialogue” could help shape the future of international dispute resolution.
