Muscat : Oil loading operations at Oman's Mina al Fahal terminal have been suspended following an explosion near its offshore mooring facilities, according to sources familiar with the situation.
The blast reportedly occurred between two single-buoy mooring berths and was believed to be linked to a suspected drone attack. Authorities had not immediately commented on the incident.
Shipping data showed several supertankers anchored off the port on Friday, indicating disruption to normal loading activities.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the region and concerns over the security of key energy infrastructure and shipping routes in the Gulf.
Officials have not announced when operations at the terminal are expected to resume.
