Bahrain-US strategic partnership discussed

Bahrain and the US are committed to strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields. Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani received a phone call yesterday from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken as they discussed strategic partnership between the two friendly countries and means to enhance bilateral cooperation on areas of shared interest.
They affirmed the depth of historical friendship between the two countries and joint cooperation to enhance the security and stability of the region.
They also discussed the situation in the Middle East in light of the ongoing military escalation in the Palestinian territories and Israel, and the international efforts being made to reduce tension and reach a permanent ceasefire between both sides.
They stressed the importance of consolidating the pillars of security, stability and peace in the region.
The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of common concern.
