HRH the Bahrain Crown Prince and Prime Minister receives FIFA President

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received the President of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Gianni Infantino, at Riffa Palace.

HRH welcomed the President’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination with international sporting organizations to further enhance the Kingdom’s sporting potential and reputation.

HRH highlighted HM the King’s unwavering support in advancing the Kingdom’s sports and youth sectors, which has yielded many achievements across different sporting arenas.

HRH noted FIFA’s role in advancing international football, emphasizing the importance of continuing to develop football across the Asian continent. In this regard, HRH highlighted that constructive cooperation between the Kingdom’s sports authorities and FIFA has strengthened local football sporting activities.

For his part, Gianni Infantino expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet HRH, noting HRH’s continued support for FIFA in growing football within Asia. Gianni Infantino further noted the Kingdom’s achievements within the sport, which have seen a clear advancement over the years.

The President of the Asian Football Confederation and Vice President of FIFA, HE Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
