HH Shaikh Isa Hails Bahrain’s Asian Games Gold

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, following the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national handball team’s gold-medal victory at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan.

Bahrain defeated Qatar in the final to claim the gold medal.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali said the achievement reflects the leadership’s continued support for youth and sports, as well as its efforts to provide Bahraini athletes with the resources and opportunities needed to represent the Kingdom at international sporting events.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali also congratulated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the BOC.

His Highness commended their efforts in translating the leadership’s vision and aspirations into sporting achievements.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali praised the national handball team’s performance throughout the tournament and the players’ efforts in reaching and winning the final. He also commended the Bahrain Handball Federation, along with the technical and administrative teams, for their role in preparing the team for the competition.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali further praised the performances of Bahraini athletes across the Asian Games and their medal achievements in various sports, which placed Bahrain among the leading Arab and Gulf countries at the Games.

His Highness said the results demonstrate the continued development of Bahraini sport and reflect the ambition of Bahraini athletes to achieve further success for the Kingdom.
