Interior Minister Receives GCC Delegations on Anti-Corruption Cooperation

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Interior Minister, received the heads of delegations participating in the 12th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Welcoming the participating delegations, the Interior Minister stressed that, under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain continues to prioritise integrity and transparency, combating corruption, upholding the rule of law and protecting public funds.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah commended the level of cooperation and coordination among GCC countries in protecting integrity and combating corruption, noting the progress achieved through joint GCC efforts.

He emphasised the importance of continuing to exchange expertise and experiences and developing cooperation mechanisms to strengthen the effectiveness of joint efforts in this field.

The Interior Minister affirmed that combating corruption is a shared responsibility requiring coordinated efforts, stronger partnerships and enhanced cooperation.

He also highlighted the role of specialised GCC meetings in exchanging expertise and experience and developing mechanisms for joint action, contributing to a culture of integrity and strengthening efforts to prevent and combat corruption.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah wished the 12th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption success, expressing hope that its outcomes and recommendations would further advance cooperation and coordination among GCC countries in protecting integrity and combating corruption.

The Interior Minister also honoured the winners of the second Research and Studies Competition, organised as part of the 2026 GCC Award for Excellence in Protecting Integrity and Combating Corruption. The competition received 246 entries.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah congratulated the winners and highlighted the importance of specialised research and studies in supporting efforts to protect integrity and combat corruption.

He also underlined the role of modern technologies and practices in developing mechanisms and approaches in this field.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the heads of delegations expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Interior Minister and commended Bahrain’s efforts to promote joint GCC action in protecting integrity and combating corruption.
