Coast Guard Raises Awareness on Marine Survey
The Coast Guard, in cooperation with Bapco Energies and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications’ Ports and Maritime Affairs, held an awareness campaign for fishermen at Bandar Al Dar fishing port.
The campaign explained the location of the new marine survey area and the safety measures that sea users must follow.
Fishermen were urged to avoid entering the survey zone or approaching survey vessels and equipment. Fishing, swimming and diving are also prohibited within the work area, while tampering with equipment or obstructing survey operations is not permitted.
The Coast Guard called on sea users to follow official announcements and updates and comply with safety instructions to protect themselves and support the project's safe progress.
The campaign also provided an opportunity to answer fishermen’s questions about the survey area and the required procedures.
