Deputy Prime Minister Meets GCC Housing Officials at Innovation Summit

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, met with senior housing officials from Gulf Cooperation Council countries participating in the Innovation Summit in the Social Housing Sector 2026.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH); Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning; His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Southern Governor; and several senior officials.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah conveyed the greetings of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his wishes for the success of the conference.

He stressed the importance of further strengthening joint Gulf cooperation in housing and advancing integration in line with the vision of the GCC leaders, with the aim of supporting sustainable housing communities across the region.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that continued efforts to align housing policies among GCC countries can help advance innovative urban development models that address development needs, support family stability and wellbeing, and accelerate the delivery of services.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah highlighted Bahrain’s hosting of the fourth GCC Housing Week alongside the second Innovation Summit in the Social Housing Sector, describing the events as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise among GCC countries.

He also noted that the gatherings provide an opportunity to review the latest practices in housing, financing and real estate development, while supporting joint Gulf housing efforts and initiatives aimed at strengthening the social housing sector and developing innovative housing and urban solutions.

The GCC housing officials expressed their appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for sponsoring the conference and to Bahrain for organising and supporting the event.

They also thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for attending, stressing the importance of continued coordination to translate shared Gulf visions into practical steps towards greater integration in the housing sector.
