HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Congratulates Leadership on Handball Gold

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on Bahrain’s achievements at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, following the national handball team’s gold medal win.

The latest achievement brought Bahrain’s total medal tally at the Games to 20.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also congratulated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the SCYS.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad said the achievements demonstrate the support extended to Bahraini sport by His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

His Highness also commended the role of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad in supporting Bahraini athletes and fostering an environment that encourages sporting excellence and further achievements.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad said Bahrain’s continued success in Asian sport reflects the leadership’s ambitious vision and represents a source of pride for the Kingdom’s citizens.

His Highness added that the national handball team’s gold medal further strengthens Bahrain’s sporting record and demonstrates the determination, resolve and fighting spirit of its athletes.
