iGA Streamlines Personal Data Updates for School Graduates
The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), in coordination with the Ministry of Education, has developed its personal record data update service to allow secondary school graduates to update their civil record and identity card data through an automated process.
The upgraded service enables beneficiaries to complete their data update requests in just two steps, replacing the previous process that required three working days to issue the required certificate and an additional full working day to update the data.
The development has reduced the Service Level Agreement (SLA) by 25%, cut the number of application steps from five to two and reduced the required approvals by 25%. It has also introduced greater automation, enhanced the systems used to process applications and standardised service information across all channels.
Ebrahim Ali Al Bursheed, Assistant Undersecretary for Education at the Ministry of Education, said the development reflects efforts to provide more integrated and streamlined government services through the direct linking of data relating to government school graduates.
He explained that academic qualification data can now be updated automatically once graduation certificates are approved, reducing procedures and speeding up the completion of related transactions.
Al Bursheed said more than 13,000 graduates benefit from the service each year, adding that the Ministry continues to develop its services and utilise digital integration to meet the needs of students and graduates while improving their experience with government services.
Ali Abdulaziz Janahi, Executive Vice President of eTransformation at the Information & eGovernment Authority, said the service development reflects ongoing efforts to advance government services through greater integration and automation.
He noted that direct data integration between government entities plays a key role in re-engineering services, improving efficiency and quality, and making the beneficiary journey faster and easier.
Janahi added that the development forms part of ongoing efforts to use technology and electronic integration to simplify procedures and transform them into more proactive and integrated services.
The approach aims to reduce the time and effort required from beneficiaries and government entities, improve operational efficiency and further enhance the experience of users of digital government services.
