Back to back SCD deaths in Bahrain

The past couple of days witnessed the demise of two Bahraini Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) patients, as the genetic disease snatched a 46 and 33-year-old residents of the Capital Governorate on Friday and Saturday.Bahrain SCD Friends Society yesterday announced the death of Najeeb Al Linjawi, 33, from Sanabis, who was recently taken to Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) due to an SCD seizure and was declared dead there on Saturday evening.The society also confirmed that Hassan Saleh, 46, from Bilad Al Qadeem Village breathed his last in SMC on Friday, after his body stopped responding to medications following three days of desperate attempts to revive him.SCD Friends Society stated SCD has taken the lives of 12 Bahrainis this year.
