High-level talks examine opportunities in energy, technology and investment
Senior Gulf and European leaders gathered in Athens on Friday for the inaugural summit of the Alliance of Europe and Gulf for Geopolitics and Investment (AEGGIS), with His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs representing Bahrain at the high-level event.
The summit, which runs until May 17 in Greece, was organised by the Atlantic Council in partnership with Antenna Group and brought together political, economic and investment leaders from Gulf and European nations.
During the summit, HH Shaikh Nasser said, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the continued support of HRH Price Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain remains committed to strengthening its position as a strategic partner in promoting regional security, stability and international co-operation.
He said current geopolitical and economic developments require stronger partnerships and greater strategic integration between Gulf countries and Europe to create new opportunities in investment, development and shared security.
HH Shaikh Nasser added that the summit provides an important platform to enhance strategic dialogue between Europe and the Gulf, particularly in areas including energy, technology, investment and the digital economy.
High-level sessions at the summit focused on the future of Gulf-European relations, geopolitical and investment co-operation, and joint initiatives across vital sectors.
