Kuwait’s Crown Prince Shaikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a written message to French President Emmanuel Macron highlighting the “strong historical ties” between Kuwait and France and ways to further develop bilateral relations, the Kuwaiti foreign ministry said.
Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah delivered the message during a meeting on Friday in Paris with France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot.
According to a statement, the letter addressed the long-standing relationship between the two countries and explored frameworks to strengthen cooperation across various sectors, in addition to discussing recent regional and international developments.
During their talks, the two ministers also reviewed bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on key regional and global issues, the statement added.
Kuwait and France have traditionally maintained close political, economic and defence ties, with both sides regularly holding high-level consultations on regional stability and strategic cooperation.
