Capital Municipality announced launching a new service allowing citizens to dispose of their unwanted furniture and large household appliances in a hassle-free manner. Launching the service, Shawqiya Ibrahim Humaidan, the Director-General of the Capital Secretariat, said the effort is to eliminate unscrupulous disposing of household wastes and unwanted appliances in public places randomly by the general public.
The secretariat, Humaidan said, has prepared a mechanism to implement the initiative gradually at first at some residential complexes in the capital governorate in coordination with the cleaning company. Those wishes to benefit from this service can call 80001111, or messaging via the WhatsApp service at 17729151.
The service is strictly for homeowners only and does not include commercial stores and any waste resulting from business purposes. The authority will also assign inspectors to monitor the premises to ensure that people are not randomly disposing waster materials at open places.
