Bahrain, UK officials meet to strengthen security cooperation

Bahrain’s Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, welcomed Mark Challen, UK Deputy Director of International Strategies at the Home Office and co-chair of the Bahrain-UK Joint Security Working Group, during an official meeting in Manama today.
Also present at the meeting were Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Hassan Al Hassan and the UK Ambassador to Bahrain, Alastair Long.
The Interior Minister expressed his appreciation for Challen’s visit and highlighted the strong, historic ties between Bahrain and the United Kingdom. He emphasized the importance of building on this partnership by continuing to strengthen cooperation, coordination, and exploring new areas of joint work.
Discussions focused on ongoing security collaboration, the exchange of expertise, and sharing of experiences to better address common security challenges.
