Health Ministry Employee Sentenced for Forging Medical Report

The First High Criminal Court has sentenced a Ministry of Health employee to one year in prison and fined her 1,000 Bahraini Dinars for forging an official document, using it, and manipulating electronic records related to her workplace. The court also ordered the confiscation of the forged document and the mobile phone used in the crime.

The case began after the Public Prosecution received a complaint from the Ministry of Health. The employee, working in the ministry’s medical committees, forged a medical report for a patient, falsely stating that he was medically unfit and eligible for retirement. She then entered the forged report into the ministry’s electronic system and sent it to the Social Insurance Organization for approval, enabling the individual to receive a retirement pension based on false information.

The Public Prosecution launched an investigation, interviewing several employees from both the Ministry of Health and the Social Insurance Organization. An expert in forgery and document tampering examined the report and confirmed it was forged by the employee. When questioned, the accused admitted to forging the document. She was initially detained and then referred to criminal court, which delivered the above sentence.
